REFLECTIVE METALLIC INSULATION (RMI) MODULE SYSTEM FOR NUCLEAR POWER PLANTS

The Adi-NGr® module system is designed for the insulation of ducts, pipes, valves and pumps in nuclear power plants. A reflective full-metal insulation module system (RMI), Adi-NGr® is extremely safe and has excellent thermal insulation performance.
Adi-NGr® contains only half the material of other products on the market, making it considerably thinner and lighter. The insulation material contains no insulation fibre. Using reflective insulation solutions without fibre prevents fibres from potentially being carried to the power plant’s filter system in a LOCA situation where water has been run into the containment building. This problem does not occur with insulation solutions that are made from stacked metal sheets. As a result of the recent safety assessments, many nuclear power plants are switching to full-metal insulation.
QUICK DISMANTLING AND INSTALLATION – AN ADVANCED INSULATION SOLUTION THAT MINIMISES THE TIME SPENT ON MAINTENANCE
Adi-NGr® is constructed of metal modules attached to each other. The Adi-NGr® reflective metal insulation has a sandwich structure made from stacked metal sheets. As the structure is made from several layers, this creates air layers in it and the sandwich structure allows heat to be reflected back, which keeps the surface temperature at a safe level. Thanks to its modular structure, the product is easy to install, dismantle and reinstall during servicing operations. No special tools are needed to open the module, as the lock can be opened with a normal hex-key. The modular components are light and easy to handle even by one person alone.
Personnel responsible for special tasks and maintenance are exposed to four times the amount of radiation compared to other nuclear power plant employees. Quick installation and dismantling save a considerable amount of time and simultaneously reduce the maintenance personnel’s exposure to radiation. Thanks to the structure, maintenance work can be performed twice as quickly as with traditional solutions.
THE ENCASED INSULATION MATERIAL IS LONG-LIFE, DURABLE AND SAFE
Thanks to the modular structure of the product, the insulation performance of Adi-NGr® can be significantly increased by adding stacked metal sheets according to the customer’s requirements. The modular structure gives the product long life: it can be removed and reinstalled numerous times, while its insulation performance remains exactly as efficient as when new.
ADVANCED LOCKING SYSTEM MAKES THE PRODUCT LEAK-PROOF AND PREVENTS HEAT LOSS
One vital component of the solution is its advanced locking system. It is located inside the insulation module, ensuring that the seams of the modules adhere tightly to each other. This prevents heat loss.
