Adiabatix’s New Adjustable Insulation Solution Reduces Installation Times in Nuclear Power Plants
Adiabatix’s new Adjustable RMI (Reflective Metallic Insulation) is an adjustable full-metal insulation solution designed for nuclear power plants. The adjustable structure allows the insulation solution to be installed faster and with less on-site work, making both installation and maintenance more efficient. This helps reduce costs and lowers radiation exposure times for personnel. A patent for the product is pending worldwide.
Adiabatix’s Adjustable RMI has been developed to increase the safety and efficiency of insulation installation and maintenance in nuclear facilities. The insulation solution, which consists of full-metal insulation cassettes, is installed using adjustable stacks at each end. Previously, the cassettes had to be cut on-site to fit into place, for example, around valves or at the end of the system. With potentially hundreds of such points, the ability to quickly adjust the cassette in question significantly speeds up the process. A faster process not only saves valuable working hours and improves occupational safety, but also results in considerable cost savings.
A Solution That Saves Time, Cuts Costs, and Enhances Safety
The new Adjustable RMI is an adjustable version of Adiabatix’s Adi-NGr, an RMI module system that already helps minimize the time spent on installations and maintenance. Thanks to its modular structure, lightweight components, and easy-to-open locking system, the solution is easy to install, dismantle, and reinstall. The system is constructed of stacked metal sheets and contains no insulation fiber.
